Five Musicians. Five Different Instruments. One Very Different Sound.
If you've never heard a wind quintet before, this is a great place to start.
Left Coast Quintet brings together five completely different instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon. Each has its own personality, range and sound, giving us a musical palette that can be bright and playful one moment, warm and lyrical the next, and surprisingly powerful when all five instruments come together.
Our concerts are relaxed, approachable and designed to connect with the audience. We'll introduce the music along the way, share some stories about what you're hearing, and show off just how much five wind instruments can do. No concert-hall experience required.
Music in One of San Diego's Most Beautiful Parks
There's something special about hearing live music surrounded by the landscape of Mission Trails.
Just a short drive from central San Diego, Mission Trails Regional Park encompasses more than 8,000 acres of open space, rugged hills, valleys and natural habitat. The Visitor and Interpretive Center overlooks Mission Gorge and is home to educational exhibits exploring the natural and cultural history of the park.
Come for the concert, explore the Visitor Center, take in the view, or make an afternoon of your visit to Mission Trails.

What You'll Hear
Expect a program that shows off the range of the wind quintet, from music written specifically for our five instruments to selections that might sound a little more familiar.
We love creating programs that move between styles, eras and moods rather than putting our audiences through 90 minutes of music that all sounds the same.
There will be beautiful melodies, energetic moments, plenty of personality from all five instruments, and probably a few musical surprises along the way.
We'll be sharing more of the program as October 17 gets closer, so check back for updates!
Meet the Left Coast Quintet
The Left Coast Quintet is a San Diego-based professional wind quintet featuring flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon.
Since 2014, we've performed throughout Southern California at concert series, museums, universities, cultural institutions, community events, corporate events, weddings and private celebrations. Our music library includes hundreds of arrangements spanning classical music, film and television, Broadway, jazz, pop, video games, folk music and more.
One of our favorite parts of performing is introducing audiences to the wind quintet. We believe chamber music doesn't need to feel formal or intimidating. It can be engaging, funny, familiar, unexpected and something people of all ages can enjoy.
Left Coast Quintet performs under Left Coast Music, a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to create more opportunities for professional musicians and bring live chamber music into communities throughout the region.
