Events & Weddings at Coasterra Restaurant
Just five musicians, five instruments, and absolutely no idea how we're supposed to pose for a photo.
Coasterra has one of those views that is unmistakably San Diego. Located on Harbor Island directly across the bay from downtown, you get a huge view of the city skyline, San Diego Bay, and Point Loma, with boats passing by throughout the day. It's a pretty spectacular setting for a wedding or special event.
We've had the opportunity to perform at Coasterra for events, and it's a venue we always enjoy coming back to. There's something particularly fun about playing live music with the downtown skyline right behind you.
Coasterra is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group and has several options for weddings and private events, including indoor and outdoor spaces that take full advantage of the waterfront location. Depending on the size and style of your event, there's room for everything from a ceremony and cocktail hour to dinner and a larger reception.
And while the views are obviously a big part of the appeal, we also like that you're right in the middle of San Diego while still feeling somewhat removed from downtown. Harbor Island gives you the skyline without actually having to be surrounded by it.

Live Music at Coasterra
We've performed at Coasterra for many events, including one of our favorites, a corporate recognition event where our musicians provided background music during cocktail hour and entertainment during dinner. We've performed here as both a wind trio and our full quintet, which gives us a good feel for how live music works in the space.
It's also exactly the kind of setting where we can have some fun with the repertoire.
For a wedding, we can start with classical or romantic music as guests arrive, perform the couple's favorite selections for the ceremony, and then switch gears completely for cocktail hour with jazz, Broadway, pop, Disney, movie soundtracks, or whatever else fits the celebration.
For corporate events, dinners, and other celebrations, we can put together a program that works as background music when people are mingling but can also become more of a featured performance when the event calls for it.
Coasterra is a great example of why we enjoy performing at waterfront venues around San Diego. Great views, plenty of room for an event to take on its own personality, and a backdrop that's very hard to beat.
