Left Coast Quintet is a San Diego-based ensemble that blends the rich, dynamic sounds of clarinet, flute, oboe, bassoon, and French horn into something truly special. While we are a traditional woodwind quintet at heart, our repertoire goes far beyond classical music—we bring pop favorites, jazz standards, movie soundtracks, Broadway hits, and more to life with a unique, elegant twist.

Looking for something a little different? We also perform as a trio (clarinet, flute, and bassoon) or a duet with mixed instruments, offering flexibility to fit your event’s style and setting.

Do you learn new songs?

All the time! We have a resident arranger in our group, so we are always getting new music added to our library of songs. If you would like us to learn a new song that we don't already have, we can create a custom arrangement for our quintet. We play everying from movie themes, pop & rock covers, Broadway, jazz, classical, and everything in between, so you might already find music you're excited about in our repertoire!

When should I book LCQ?

The Left Coast Quintet is comprised of only the five musicians you see smiling back at you above; besides our core group there are very few other musicians who perform with us, so we can only book one event at a time. It is best to book us as soon as you have your date and venue selected, and we usually are booked about 6-8 months prior to an event.

What is your pricing?
We know that budget is a key factor when planning your event, and we believe in transparent pricing with no surprises.

Our quintet typically starts at $750 for one hour (or ceremony only), while our trio starts at $550. However, factors like event logistics, location, and date can affect the final rate. On average, most of our clients pay $1250 to have two hours of beautiful, live music at their event.

Do you travel outside of San Diego?

We are primarily located in central San Diego and prefer to stay local, but we also regularly travel to south Riverside County (Temecula Wine Country) and Orange County. We can travel further if requested, and travel fees will apply that will coincide with the price of gas to get to your venue.

Should I Hire a String Quartet for My Wedding?

We get it—when people think of wedding music, they picture a traditional string quartet. And don’t get us wrong, our string-playing brethren are incredible musicians. We often share the stage with them at symphony concerts and know many of the top professional groups in San Diego. String quartets have their place in classic movie scenes and celebrity weddings, gracefully playing as couples glide down the aisle.

But let’s put it this way: If you want the same music you’ve heard at every wedding since 1725, hire a string quartet. If you want something fresh, fun, and fabulous, we’ve got you.
