Weddings at Cuvier Park, the Wedding Bowl
Cuvier Park sits atop cliffs just above the Pacific Ocean in La Jolla, CA. For outdoor beach or ocean style weddings, this is just an amazing spot. Called "The Wedding Bowl", the ceremony site is encircled in greenery and ocean views.
The park is owned by the City of San Diego and a permit is required, along with having a portable battery powered sound system (which we have). This site is ceremony only, but nearby hotels like the La Valencia or venues such as the Cuvier Club or the La Jolla Women's Club offer a great way to continue the celebrations!
Parking can be a challenge here! Definitely suggest having a shuttle service if you are planning a weekend wedding, or letting your guests know ahead of time that they'll be walking some steep hills to get in and out. You'll also want to know that there are a lot of passing pedestrians that will stop to watch the ceremony - there is a public sidewalk that goes right by, but in the many times we've been there, everyone is incredibly respectful.
