Weddings at the University of San Diego Founders Chapel
Founders Chapel at the University of San Diego is one of the most beautiful and distinctive places in San Diego for a Catholic wedding ceremony.
We've had the opportunity to perform at Founders Chapel before, and we've spent quite a bit of time on the USD campus over the years performing for weddings, university events, receptions, and other celebrations. It's a campus we know well, and Founders Chapel is certainly one of its most special spaces.
A wedding here is also a little different from many of the other ceremonies we perform around San Diego.
Live Music for a Founders Chapel Wedding
Founders Chapel requires wedding music to be performed live rather than using recorded music, and couples are not limited to organ or piano. That opens the door to ensembles like the Left Coast Quintet while still respecting the musical guidelines of a Catholic wedding liturgy.
Our wind quintet features flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon, giving us a warm, full sound that works beautifully inside the chapel.
For weddings here, we focus on appropriate classical and sacred repertoire and work with couples to select music that fits both the ceremony and the established guidelines for Founders Chapel.

If you're used to looking through our wedding music library, you'll notice plenty of Beatles, Disney, Broadway, movie soundtracks, jazz, and pop music.
Founders Chapel is not the place for most of that.
Because your wedding is taking place within a Catholic liturgy, music selections need to be appropriate for the setting and approved as required by the chapel and officiating clergy.
Fortunately, classical music is a huge part of what we do.
We can help you choose beautiful music for guests arriving, the wedding party and processional, different portions of the ceremony where instrumental music is appropriate, and the recessional. If you're not sure where to begin, we're happy to offer suggestions based on music we've performed for traditional wedding ceremonies.
