Hotel del Coronado Weddings & Wedding Music
There aren't many San Diego wedding venues that need absolutely no introduction, but the Hotel del Coronado is one of them. The red-roofed Victorian hotel has been sitting along the Coronado shoreline since 1888, and more than a century later, it's still one of the most recognizable places to get married in Southern California.
And there isn't really just one way to have a wedding at The Del. Couples can get married with their feet in the sand, have a ceremony overlooking the Pacific, celebrate on one of the hotel's lawns or terraces, or move everything indoors to one of its historic ballrooms. The Crown Room, with its incredible wood-domed ceiling and chandeliers, is probably the most famous, but spaces like Windsor Lawn, Vista Terrace, The Garden, Ocean Ballroom, and the newer Southpointe spaces give couples plenty of very different options.

Live Wedding Music at The Del
We've been fortunate to perform weddings at the Hotel del Coronado over the years, and it's one of those places where live musicians simply fit.
Our five-piece wind quintet brings together flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon, giving couples something a little different from the ensembles guests hear at most weddings. For smaller celebrations, our wind trio is another great option.
The music itself can go in just about any direction. We can keep things elegant and traditional with classical music as guests arrive, then surprise everyone with a favorite movie theme, Broadway song, or pop arrangement for the processional. We've built a library of hundreds of arrangements over the years, so couples can make the ceremony sound like them rather than choosing from the same handful of wedding songs everyone has heard before.
And when the ceremony ends, we can completely change gears for cocktail hour with jazz, pop, movie and television music, Broadway, and other recognizable favorites while everyone grabs a drink and enjoys the view.

Outdoor weddings come with the Pacific Ocean in the background, while indoor celebrations can take advantage of some genuinely historic spaces. The Crown Room dates back to the hotel's earliest years, while the Ocean Ballroom combines chandeliers and a built-in stage with panoramic views of the water.
It's also hard to beat Coronado for guests coming from out of town. They can make an entire weekend out of the wedding, exploring the beach, walking around town, enjoying the restaurants and shops along Orange Avenue, and spending plenty of time at the hotel itself.
