Wedding Music at the Intercontinental Hotel
Sitting right on the downtown waterfront, InterContinental San Diego by IHG is one of those San Diego venues where the view does a lot of the decorating for you. From the hotel, you're looking across San Diego Bay toward Coronado, Point Loma, the USS Midway, cruise ships coming and going, and some pretty spectacular sunsets.
We've had the opportunity to spend time at the InterContinental for one of their event open houses, where we toured several of the spaces and got to know the property a little better. What stood out to us was just how many different kinds of events could work here. There are large indoor spaces for weddings, conferences and galas, but also smaller restaurants, private dining areas and outdoor terraces that feel completely different from a traditional hotel ballroom.
The location is also fantastic for out-of-town guests. You're right on the Embarcadero and close to Little Italy, the waterfront, the Gaslamp, Seaport Village and plenty of things to do before and after the wedding.

Waterfront Wedding Music in Downtown San Diego
For a wedding, the combination of modern architecture and those huge San Diego Bay views gives you plenty of opportunities to move throughout the property. A ceremony or cocktail hour outside can take advantage of the waterfront and sunset, while dinner and dancing can move indoors afterward.
And naturally, we're partial to adding live music.
Left Coast Quintet is a five-piece wind ensemble featuring flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon. For ceremonies, we can go from traditional classical selections to something much more personal, including movie scores, Broadway, Disney and Pixar, video game music, jazz, and instrumental arrangements of pop and rock songs.
Cocktail hour is where we can loosen things up even more. With hundreds of arrangements in our library, we can jump between styles and generations throughout the hour. It's fun watching guests suddenly recognize a melody they weren't expecting to hear from a wind quintet.
Our smaller wind trio is also available when the event or space calls for something a little more intimate.

We can provide polished background music while guests network over cocktails, something more upbeat for a reception, or a curated program built around the theme of an event.
