Wedding Music at the Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum

Japanese Friendship Garden Balboa Park Wedding Music
The Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum in Balboa Park is one of our favorite places in San Diego to perform for weddings. Left Coast Quintet is proud to be a preferred live music vendor for the Garden, and we love helping couples create music that fits such a beautiful and unique setting.

We've performed throughout Balboa Park and know how well live wind music works in an outdoor setting like the Garden. A wind quintet gives you the elegance of live classical music while also opening up a huge range of possibilities for your ceremony, from traditional wedding music to movie soundtracks, Broadway, jazz, pop, Disney, video game music, and much more.

One of our favorite parts of performing weddings is helping couples choose music that actually feels like them.

Some couples want a completely traditional ceremony with Bach, Handel, Mozart, and other classical favorites. Others might walk down the aisle to music from Studio Ghibli, Star Wars, The Legend of Zelda, Disney, Broadway, or a favorite pop song. Many of our weddings end up being a combination of both.

We have a library of hundreds of pieces arranged specifically for wind quintet, and we're always happy to help you find music that works for each part of your ceremony.

If you're looking for music that complements the setting of the Japanese Friendship Garden, we also have Japanese and Asian-inspired selections that can work beautifully throughout the ceremony or cocktail hour.

We can provide music for your entire ceremony, including:
  • Prelude music while guests arrive
  • Processional music for family and the wedding party
  • Your entrance
  • Music during the ceremony
  • Recessional music
  • Postlude music as guests leave
  • Cocktail hour entertainment

Because we're an acoustic ensemble, we can create a full, rich sound without needing a complicated sound system or taking away from the natural atmosphere of the Garden.

And unlike a string quartet, a wind quintet brings five very different instruments together: flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon. Each instrument has its own personality, which gives us an incredible variety of sounds and lets us move easily between completely different styles of music.
