Left Coast Quintet specializes in live music for Jewish weddings, with experience supporting ceremonies, cocktail hours, and celebrations throughout San Diego. We enjoy working closely with couples to choose music that reflects the traditions that matter to them and the atmosphere they want to create, from the ceremony through the reception. With a broad repertoire and a collaborative approach, we aim to make the music feel like an effortless part of the day rather than a production.

I strive to keep everything very straightforward and easy. Once we've decided on an ensemble, I send a quick contract and take a retainer to secure the date. We will have an opportunity to discuss music selections and timing, and then we will be all set - it's really simple. Booking our group also means I'm available to help provide any suggestions or guidance, I'm happy to help!

Frequently asked questions about our experience with Jewish weddings in San Diego:
Do you have experience with Jewish wedding ceremonies?
Yes. My groups regularly perform for Jewish weddings and are familiar with the flow, timing, and expectations of traditional and modern ceremonies. Being Jewish myself and having been through my own wedding planning as well as working with many of my friends and numerous couples, I understand when music is needed, how it supports each moment, and how to adapt if things shift slightly on the day of the wedding.
Do you work with our rabbi or cantor?
Absolutely. I'm happy to coordinate directly with your rabbi, cantor, or wedding planner to confirm timing, musical selections, cues, and any specific customs being observed. My goal is to make this part of the day feel smooth and stress-free.
Can we choose specific Jewish or Israeli pieces?
Yes. Couples often request traditional Jewish melodies, Israeli songs, or family favorites. We’re also happy to discuss what works best for different moments of the ceremony and reception, and to help guide selections if you’re unsure. I have a good library of Jewish music already, and I'm happy to find custom arrangements of other pieces as needed.
Can you learn a special request that isn’t already in your repertoire?
In many cases, yes. If there is a piece that’s especially meaningful to you or your family, let us know early in the planning process and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
What parts of the wedding can you provide music for?
We commonly provide music for:
Guest arrival and seating (prelude)
Processional and ceremony
Recessional
Cocktail hour
Other celebrations during the wedding week, like rehearsal dinners or guest arrival/entertainment.
We can cover a single portion of the day or multiple segments, depending on your needs.
How many musicians do you provide?
We are primarily a wind quintet of 5 musicians, and also regularly offer a trio for smaller spaces. We can also contract more musicians for a larger group, like a chamber orchestra, if the space and budget will allow for a special performance. We’ll recommend an ensemble size based on your venue, guest count, and the kind of sound you’re looking for.
