A Very Spooky Halloween Post!

Ok music lovers - what's the best Halloween music? Since we're in the season now, and having fun playing so many of these themes at various parties (and even one spooky wedding, yep!), we thought we'd put together a creepy list of Spooktacular music to get you into the season! 

Maybe we are a bit biased, but personally our favorite Halloween music comes from the great Danny Elfman, who wrote the themes to The Nightmare Before Christmas by Tim Burton. It's such a fun piece to perform, and when we start playing everyone knows exactly what it's from and gets into it!

But we can't just have one song on repeat, so here are some other choices from our library that get to come play during October:

• Thriller, the epic from Michael Jackson, seems to get everyone up and moving. That rockin' bass line, the soaring melodies, it's just a fun piece, and we try not to laugh when folks start doing the dance, but sometimes we can't quite help ourselves. 
• Ghostbusters, of course going back to our movie theme obsession, is a classic. 
• If you're a cult classic fan, the music from Rocky Horror Picture Show, and specifically The Time Warp, seems to come in handy this time of year, and it's a fun piece to rock out to!
• Monster Mash is just an old and funny piece, similar to Thriller, you'll see people trying to do some funny mummy dancing, and why not! 
• Get your snapping fingers out with the theme from the Addams Family!
• And there are, of course, all the movie and Broadway themes surrounding magic, witches, and the like: Harry Potter, Wicked, Game of Thrones, Wizard of Oz, Monsters Inc, the fun just doesn't end.
