Balboa Park is the heart of this city. The sprawling gardens and parkscapes surrounded by urban San Diego provide some incredibly scenic and unique backdrops for weddings and other fun events. The shear size of the park itself has so many different interesting spaces, buildings, and gardens that anyone can easily find their perfect wedding spot, on any budget, with any dream in mind. Here are a few location ideas in the park, but of course we aren't covering everything. The Prado - Upscale Weddings in Balboa Park Located in the heart of Balboa Park, the classy and upscale Prado restaurant hosts many weddings and events every month. They have many options for both ceremony and receptions sites, including their grand ballroom, a gorgeous outdoor enclosed patio, garden spaces, and pictured above the patio fountain. Having an all-inclusive upscale Balboa Park wedding ceremony here would be easy, leaving all of the details to the superb event staff and being able to keep guests in one central location. The Left Coast Quintet has had the privilege of bringing music to a number of different events at the Prado. For more info, check out: Balboa Park - Prado Weddings & Events Just next to the Prado in a small tree shaded alcove is a gorgeous sunken garden, perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions. While it might be a bit more work to bring in your own chairs and other items, this location really speaks for itself and is close to all of Balboa Park's major attractions. Weddings at the Japanese Friendship Garden Also in the heart of Balboa Park sits the enchanting Japanese Friendship Garden. Gorgeous plants and trees, Koi ponds, and uniquely Japanese style buildings dot the gardens, where many types of events take place. You can do indoor ceremonies in the new events center, or find a perfect outdoor wedding space in one of numerous garden locations, Left Coast Quintet happens to be a preferred wedding music vendor for the Japanese Friendship Gardens! For more info about the gardens, check out: Japanese Friendship Garden Weddings Museum of Art & Panama 66 Weddings Panama 66 is one of the newer restaurants in Balboa Park, and takes up residence in the Museum of Art's courtyard. Surrounded by the gorgeous sculpture gardens and with a great view of Balboa Tower, the central location of Panama 66 is perfect for many types of events. Hosting your wedding at Panama 66 or the Museum of Art would be quite a classy affair, while still retaining that San Diego charm! Finally on our list here is the amazing and grand Organ Pavilion, one of the central landmarks of Balboa Park and a unique and easy location for wedding ceremonies. If you happen to be a musician like us, this location is a no brainer- having the grand organ in the background while saying your vows will make for some really cool wedding pictures. Benches are already set up for your guests, but of course you could bring in your own chairs for more of an intimate or upscale event.
