San Diego is full of beautiful places, where the venue itself actually becomes part of the event. Cuvier Park in La Jolla, also known as the Wedding Bowl, is certainly one of those special spots. This semi-secluded spot with some of the most iconic views that San Diego is known for might be difficult to acquire, with various permits from the City and scheduling with other events, but once secured you can be sure that you have one of the best outdoor wedding venues in San Diego!

Booking the Wedding Bowl La Jolla for your Weddings & Events:

There are certain factors you need to remember when booking Cuvier Park for your wedding, since it is a City park and has limited access.

• First off, it is a pretty small venue, and the listed max capacity is only 40 people. That being said, between 80-100 chairs can easily be set up and there will still be room for an isle and for the musicians to stand off to a side.
• There is no electrical outlet and generators are not allowed- which works great for live music since our instruments provide the sound. We also offer a portable battery powered wireless speaker system that is crucial for your officiant to be heard.
• The reception cannot be held here, but no worries, there are so many nearby locations that are within walking distance or a short shuttle ride: The La Jolla Women's Club, The Cuvier Club, The Darlington House, La Valencia Hotel, and the Grand Colonial come to mind as perfect reception spots.
• There are two ways to enter the park, either from the ramp (preferred) or from the stairs (this can be tricky). One wedding we did recently had the bride and bridesmaids walking in down the ramp, and the groomsmen came in down the stairs. It worked well- but please remember your musicians when planning your seating arrangement, we like being off to the side so we aren't in pictures while you walk down the isle!

Overall- while there might be some restrictions or City rules to follow- Cuvier Park's gorgeous view is the pinnacle of San Diego shoreline wedding locations. If you have questions about setup, music, speaker systems, or really anything else, do not hesitate to contact us about it.
