There is a beautiful new hotel in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter - the recently opened Margaritaville Hotel! We got to take a tour of the property with the National Association of Catering & Events (NACE) and experience everything the property has to offer. Located in the heart of the Gaslamp, only 2 blocks from Petco Park, the Convention Center, and tons of restaurants and activities, this beautifully renovated hotel boasts awesome spots for events, weddings, and hang outs. Our tour started in their ballroom which was set up as pictured above to showcase either a conference, a training session, or a dinner party. The colors and decor of the room are laid back yet modern and stylish, and I could easily see the quintet playing in a corner for a wedding cocktail hour or a corporate event. The space is easy to get to on the first level of the hotel, so whether you are staying there or walking in off the street, it is easy to get oriented. Views and spaces throughout the property showcase the urban vibe outside, while exemplifying the laid back atmosphere of Margaritaville inside. With custom decor and fun seating areas, it is safe to say that many people with different tastes and backgrounds could find themselves comfortably sipping drinks or enjoying appetizers in some of the rooms on the property. A quick jaunt on the elevator brings you up to the 4th floor roof deck, complete with a pool, wrap around lounge space, and a great fully stocked bar. There is more than enough room up here for many events at once - our group enjoyed this lounge space while hotel guests were still able to swim and relax, and others were listening to live music on another part of the deck (sadly, no it wasn't us performing, but they were still great). When at Margaritaville, you get Margaritas! Absolutely delicious and with the ring of salt and Tajin, it was really a treat.
Overall - highly recommend this great gem of a property in downtown San Diego for those looking for a laid back spot to stay, a cool venue for a wedding, or something chill for a holiday party! Can't wait to return to perform here.
