The San Diego Botanic Gardens are an oasis in the middle of Encinitas, a cute coastal town about 15 minutes north of San Diego. The gardens have a rich history, having been developed since the early 1900s on land overlooking the Pacific Ocean and incorporating a wide variety of different spaces. While you could consider this a museum for plant species, the gardens have evolved and become a spectacular event space, perfect for weddings, parties, engagements, photo shoots, and other happenings.

With the perfect weather we have nearly year round in San Diego, it is no wonder that couples want to get outside and be surrounded by nature for their wedding. But nature can be tricky sometimes, and it is wise to have a space like the San Diego Botanic Gardens that both showcases beautiful trees, plants, and flowers, but also has dedicated spaces for weddings and other parties. We have found that many people choose the Walled Garden, a secluded shady lawn with space for between 80-150 guests. The Victorian Gazebo is also an amazing space with a bit more capacity. It isn't difficult to switch between ceremony and reception here, as guests have the opportunity to stroll around the grounds while tables are being set up.

A Hassle Free, Beautiful Wedding Location in Encinitas

There are so many other no-hassle options when choosing the San Diego Botanic Gardens for weddings, for instance, available parking for all of your guests. Where else can you be immersed in nature, but have the luxury and convenience of guests vehicles near by. Certainly beats hiking through a forest in a wedding dress! There is plenty of spaces for getting ready (both for the bridal party, and thankfully for us vendors too!), and many activities to keep kids entertained throughout the day!
